A Few Types Of Wine Storage Furniture To Consider

If you love wine, then chances are that you also love to always have at least a few bottles on hand. For the more enthusiastic drinker-turned-collector there are also considerations of properly storing your wine. In both cases and for everything in-between, there is wine storage furniture.

When one hears the term wine storage furniture, the first inclination might be to think of a sofa that contains bottles of wine under the cushion or sticking out of the frame at the back and sides. While this latter description is not impossible (though perhaps improbable for most homes), wine storage units usually have numerous receptacles for bottles, whether they are stored individually, or en mass.

For the individual bottle the term 'wine storage furniture' seems a bit much, as a single bottle is usually kept on a small heavy-wire of some sort, or in the more traditional wood container. Actually 'container' may be less than befitting for the inanimate caretakers of single bottles, as they are truly just "holders" or 'display racks.'

Yet for multiple bottles the set-up becomes considerably fancier (though not always as impressive as certain single bottle 'gravity' holders are). Yet these slightly larger bottle holders are apt for their function and make fine conversation pieces at social gatherings.

It is when wine storage furniture takes on a larger function, that of true, large, even bulky furniture, that things really get cooking. Often this is best represented by a bookcase of sorts, yet with small cubby-holes for the bottles to neatly slip into. For this type of wine storage there is need to have a goodly amount of room in the apartment or home, preferably in an area that is cool, dry, and dark.

Of course, the optimal storage furniture considers not only the wine, but self-preservation, likewise. Thus, such furniture should be rather moisture tolerant. Of course, even the most tolerant, indestructible wood has its limits, and so must be maintained with shellac or some similar preservative every few years. With just a little extra attention to the details of each of these different types of wine storage, the right one for each home can be easily chosen.

If you are looking for wine furniture that stores six to 12 bottles, simple wine carts, serving tables or full sized cabinets ewineracks.com has many styles of wine furniture and designs to fit your particular wine storage and serving needs.
